Arguably the most prestigious part of the airport development, where the visitors’ lounges have been described as ‘a six star hotel reception’.
It comprises 3,600sqm of hangar and 2,250sqm of offices and lounges over four floors.
The Terminal Hangar provides 5,000sqm in three bays, together with serviced offices. This required planning permission, since it could not be built under permitted development, as an Article 4 Direction was in place.
David provided advice on commencing development to implement the permission. Subsequently agreement was secured, from the council, that changes to the scheme could be considered minor. He then advised to the client on building part of the hangar (three out of the four bays).
The airport’s replacement fire station was another development secured as permitted development. This avoided the need to go through the costly and lengthy planning application route.
This building, situated within the Green Belt, covers over 1,000sqm and is over 8m tall at its highest point.
