Belarusian Chapel
Planning permission was obtained by Alpha Planning for the first wooden church to be built in London since the Great Fire in 1666.
The site in Woodside Park, North London, is in a residential area and planning permission for a chapel had been refused twice before Alpha Planning became involved.
The proposal was to provide a church for the Belarusian Diaspora, a community that became established in London during the second world war. The design reflected traditional church design from Belarus, but included modern twists.
